X-BASE SMALL TABLE

When designing a new table, chair, or really any piece my goal is to avoid the obvious. Instead of doing what would easily be the choice for a working set of table or chair supports, I like to consider what has not been done (or at least most often). I decided to do a stacked X shaped base with legs that follow the lines of the X, rather than that of the table top edges. I also chose to incorporate a joined plank top using hard wood, and the same metal strap industrial asthetic as seen in my modern patio chair. I use this table outside on my patio and have enjoyed its size and reference to industrial material design.
